Growing forth after riding hard: Reflections on the Alleycat Acres Ride

First of all, I want to say Thank you to all of the organizers and volunteers of Alleycat Acres who did an amazing job making sure everything went smoothly. Then a huge thank you goes out to all the wonderful women who sponsored me in the ride and my friends who stuck it out all 60 miles. Finally, a huge serving of gratitude is sent out to the lovely sun and blue skies that graced us around the entirety of Lake Washington.

Teaching yoga before the ride was great. It is nice to teach a short flow that you can do without a yoga mat. Next time, I would like folks to have their bicycles near by to use as props.

It was a really inspirational experience for me. I felt so empowered being able to ride my bike that far. I see more bike touring in my future, exploring the world via bicycle. It is also amazing to chat with all the folks who are on the forefront of urban agriculture, a vital piece to the health of our cities and our bodies. Alleycat Acres raised a whooping $15,142.36! With all that cash I know we will make way for more of our little green friends to grow.

Oh, and I turned my awesome shirt commemorating the ride into an applique for my favorite skirt.
